Mark Neighbors a second generation General Contactor with experience in new construction, development, and real estate. The Neighbors Companies have been evolved since 1977 with Mark’s practical experience and education in Construction Science background and Business major along with his wife Shelly a professional Interior designer and marketer. In the earlier years working with his fathers company, James D. Neighbors Construction, he was in charge of a multitude of projects primarily empty nester type communities to name a few Corinth Downs, Westmont, and Villas of Tamarind.
In 1985 he and his brother Dave started Neighbors Group Inc. and built empty nester homes as well as upper bracket custom single family homes in Lakewood, Cedar Creek, Villas of Tamarind, Stone Post Ranch and Edgewood of Leawood Town Center.
In the early 90s Mark & Shelly his wife were developing and marketing property for single family construction. They along with their two sons like Mark have grown up with construction, have the future planned, Justin with a construction management degree background in Urban and regional planning 2006 and Taner with background in construction management and Business/Marketing degree will be joining the company in 2008.
Since the beginning the Neighbors Companies have constructed hundreds of custom homes developed several neighborhoods managed and own Neighbors Realty and Blue Valley Realty. Today they property manage homes along with vacation rentals build custom homes in their developments The Canyon, Lee’s Summit Missouri and Village of Gentle Slopes, sell Real Estate and continue to develop and plan for their next one. In the spring of 2006 a new development Metcalf 211 a business and light industry park will have its first building available to lease or purchase.
